Years ago Postbox was awesome, or appeared to be, and I just couldn't take the time to transition away from outlook due to having over 100 rules for incoming and outgoing mail which I've managed to slowly move away from over the past two years in hopes of not having to replicate them if I moved to another app. It might have been, but it's severely lacking and I'm not about to waste more money to find out if their support sucks or just their concept of accessing support. I have no trouble paying for quality software.

I'm really just trying to find reasons to not toss away a great-looking app after only a few months of use because it fails on so many levels. If not for the well-actioned keyboard command, the local folders would be nearly unusable and anyone not explicitly using imap accounts would find postbox a total waste. I want to be able to navigate through them and amongst them like I could with mail or outlook, but alas, they must disappear when I need to access anything else. Remove focus from that item and they go away. When you click on this item, it opens up all the local folder options. In the list amongst all my email accounts sits a "Local" item. That's better than outlook or mail, though outlook's method was pretty close. I can easily-which keyboard commands-push a message to a local folder. I every other desktop mail client I've ever used, the ability to access the local folders is omnipresent. Last, the interface for non-account-specific use is horrible. Ideally, it would offer autocorrect integration in later macOS versions, but no luck there. The rest I can live with with the regular use of my third-party text replacement app (I use Typinator - and it does permit regex functions so that's my next task to work out). This wasn't just something I got used to with apple ios devices, it was actually a microsoft feature from years of using entourage.app and outlook.app. And it could really be whittled down to the ability to auto-cap words following punctuation and a space.

Really, all I want is simple parity with mail.app and outlook.app with regard to typing. Simple things are all I ask, and it looks like I need to go third-party and test to see if they even work before assuming third-party is an option. Third, there are no options for tweaking typing as you go. Since they don't really support their product, I figured I'd either help with what I could or, sadly, steer people away from it. because I was hoping there would be some community support here, or over at stackexchange. That's why I'm replying to this here in reddit right now. Articles online are vague and I don't feel like I should have to pay more to work out a problem that isn't solely mine to begin with. I don't want to restart the app every time I try to send an email. Looking online and it's a common issue and they only offer the recommendation to fix something on your end, like it's your own fault, or restart the app. This is a daily occurrence for me, probably 2-3x daily, if I were to keep track. Half the time, you end up going to try to re/force send and it gives an error where you must compact your folders or restart the app.
